SNOW SNOW SNOW

What is with the major snowstorm before Christmas? Jason and I tackled our driveway with shovels and we're happy to say we completed the task in 5 1/2 hours and did not break our backs! I'm sure we'll be a little sore tomorrow, but it feels good to have that done. Hopefully we'll get our plow up and running this weekend so we'll be more prepared to move big snow like this. More to come on our trip to Zihuatanejo!

Little Miss Brooke Austin in her pretty pink bow and denim overalls... I'm thankful for my nieces and nephew this year!

Oktoberfest

The party was a great success! Just thought I'd share a few pictures from the evening. Next year, 2nd Annual t-shirts?

Race Day

I completed my second half marathon on 10/12 in Spokane! It was such a great time and I was proud to beat my time from the Cd'A Half by 10 minutes! The day was beautiful with the leaves turning. We had to take on the infamous Doomsday Hill plus a few other smaller hills.

Pictured are Amanda, Christy, Jen, Brian and me. See my missing hub cap? Amanda told me about it the week before when she was following me to work and thought it might come off and hit her car (she told me later). Rather than fixing it right away, I thought I'd check it when I got home. I guess I wasn't concerned about it coming off! Well... I forgot to check and now it is along the road somewhere. Lesson learned.

Apples and Pears from Rose Lake

Every Fall we get invited to pick apples and pears on the Rose Lake property. We're in the process of dehydrating a bunch. Thanks Charmaine and Jack!

Kegerator King

Jason is in hog heaven! He built his kegerator this morning and couldn't wait to go get a keg to see if it works successfully. IT WORKS! He keeps going out to "check the CO2 pressure" but he always comes back with a full glass. Hmmmm...

We decided to move this project into high gear since we're having Oktoberfest-Post Falls on the 25th! We're a few weeks early so I hope we we won't drink too much of the party keg... Thanks to Dad for helping Jason pick up the fridge!

We're going to have to watch our consumption (waistlines) now that a keg is at our disposal!

Allie was over Thursday night and she liked my homemade tomato soup, even with onions... I was impressed. She also ate a little tomato like it was a cheese stick. I had to share this picture of her because it's so cute. She'll be two February 1st. :)

We made a minestrone style soup tonight with zucchini and tomato from our now retired garden. I also made zucchini bread this morning - it's a bit tiring having all that produce to use up. We enjoyed it very much though and look forward to next year.

Us.

Jason wanted to have a picture of us on here just in case you forget what we look like. This picture was taken when we went to Portland in June for a wedding and stayed at McMenamin's Edgefield. This was on the party bus where it was "legal" to bring a pitch of beer to share! We had a fun night!

This is one of our favorite pictures of Sedona several years ago now... She loves to run and play in the snow!

Are we blogger material?

Okay, I broke down and decided to create a blog to post pictures and communicate with you about what we're up to!

I have some fun pictures from my recent visit to see Krista, Darin and Brooke! What a sweet baby girl! I had a great time visiting with them and getting to know my precious new niece. Thanks for having me Austins!
